Wealth Management

Private Wealth Management (PWM)

Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

The Investment Strategy Group (ISG) within Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management has responsibility for strategic and tactical asset allocation views and advice for the firm’s high net worth clients and certain institutions.  The role of an ISG member requires a broad set of qualities, including a passion for investing, client servicing, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.

The Tactical Asset Allocation team (TAA) within ISG seeks to generate tactical alpha for clients’ portfolios by investing across macro asset classes (equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities).  In addition to its investment mandate, the TAA publishes several widely distributed reports and Outlooks each year, and is responsible for disseminating and communicating macro investment vies to the firm’s clients.

This role is part of TAA within a prestigious global asset manager. The team conducts in-depth research and analysis of macroeconomic, policy and market trends to generate investment recommendations. The team seeks investment opportunities across global markets, asset classes and instruments. The role is based in New York.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL 

  • Closely following, understanding and interpreting political, economic and financial market developments in major emerging market countries
  • Assisting in guiding the team’s tactical asset allocation strategy in global emerging market debt
  • Developing views on the short-term and long-term direction of local interest rates and currencies and hard dollar debt of global emerging market countries
  • Formulating specific trade ideas based on these views
  • Contributing to the communication of these views to the rest of he business and to clients
  • Contributing to periodic publications discussing the team’s key economic and financial market views

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous risk-taking experience and commitment to a career in investing
  • Experience developing and defending investment ideas and/or macro views
  • Advanced degree in finance or economics and/or CFA a plus
  • Comfortable taking initiative and being resourceful/entrepreneurial
  • Excellent analytical/quantitative skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and team orientation

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $115000-$270000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
