Position Summary

Brown Advisory is seeking a highly motivated, intelligent, and experienced individual to serve as a Senior Operational Due Diligence (ODD) Analyst. This position requires an intrinsically motivated individual with a true passion to learn and the capability to solve complex problems, often under deadlines.

The primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct operational due diligence on hedge, private equity, real estate and long only funds
  • Assist in evaluating external investments focusing on risks associated with fund operations
  • Communicate with fund managers to gather relevant due diligence information
  • Review and analyze funds’ financial, legal, and other documents
  • Participate in onsite due diligence meetings with senior fund personnel
  • Create operational due diligence reports for broad distribution
  • Develop and leverage technology to maintain manager specific data and track due diligence metrics
  • Participate in research, asset allocation, and investment committee meetings
  • Attend industry events and seminars to monitor industry trends
  • Conduct ad hoc projects to assist the investment teams


  • Minimum five (5) + years Operational Due Diligence experience required
  • Understanding of various financial instruments
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • CFA or CAIA preferred, not required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Superior analytical, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on several assignments simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel globally, approximately 10-20%
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to work in the New York office location

Salary: $150K-$190K Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
