Position Responsibilities

Client Investment Strategy (80%): You will initially be allocated 12 to 15 investment portfolios which will cover a range of institutional and family office clients. Example institutional clients include the endowments of the V&A Museum, Eton College and INSEAD Business School. In London, the portfolios are largely managed on a fully discretionary basis by teams of three to six people. The aim of the portfolio management team is to specify, develop and execute our clients’ investment strategies. This will involve, among other things, the setting of long-term asset allocation targets, the evaluation and selection of third-party investment managers, the design and oversight of derivative overlay strategies, the research and generation of tactical asset allocation ideas, and attendance at client meetings to report on investment performance and discuss investment strategy. We expect you to swiftly progress to the role of Investment Principal and will provide you with the support and training you need to make the transition.

Other (20%): In addition to the above, you will, take on other activities and projects, which might include: coaching and mentoring junior colleagues, interviewing Investment Associate candidates, participating in pitches to prospective clients, performing due diligence on third-party investment managers, co-authoring investment strategy White Papers and helping to develop our technological capabilities.

Attributes

We are looking for an intellectually curious team player with a strong desire to further our reputation for excellence. You will have good problem-solving and interpersonal skills and thrive in a collaborative working environment. You need not have worked within the investment management industry, but you will have worked for a number of years in a professional services role (e.g., within management consulting, investment banking, and accounting). You will have graduated with a 1st or upper 2nd class degree in an academic subject from a leading university. As we are proponents of lifelong learning, you will be keen to commit to further professional development (e.g., obtaining the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CAA (Chartered Asset Allocator) qualification), which we will support. If you believe you have some (or all) of these attributes and are looking to fulfil your potential in an intellectually engaging career with good long-term progression prospects, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits

The salary is competitive and includes a discretionary performance bonus as well as a company bonus. You can also expect:

  • Time off for volunteering and charitable giving
