The New York State Nurses Association Pension Plan and Benefits Fund administers high-level health benefits and retirement services for Registered Nurses and other health professionals represented under collective bargaining agreements by the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) throughout New York.

This is a remote/work-from-home position. Occasional travel throughout the U.S. and internationally is also required.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Senior Investment Analyst will work with an eight-person investment team dedicated to the NYSNA Pension Plan and Benefits Fund. The Senior Investment Analyst will be exposed to various research initiatives and investment decisions surrounding asset allocation, investment manager selection and investment manager monitoring. The Senior Investment Analyst will take part in daily staff meetings and quarterly Investment Committee meetings.

The Investment Department is responsible for oversight of a complex $5 billion Pension Plan with allocations to public and private equity, public and private debt, multi-asset strategies, and real assets (real estate and infrastructure).

Responsibilities:

• Perform universal analyses of managers for assigned asset classes, with a focus on public equities

• Conduct conference calls and on-site due diligence meetings with asset managers

• Generate investment reports including manager opinion reports,

recommendations, and performance commentaries

• Review retained managers and participate in all manager recommendation reviews

• Complete side projects such as cash flow analysis, Trustee education, and manager compliance

• Periodic travel to conduct retained and prospective manager on-site due diligence

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience evaluating and conducting due diligence on institutional investment managers

• CFA designation and/or willingness to pursue the CFA designation and other related designations/certificates in the near term

• Self-disciplined and self-motivated

• Strong analytical, written, and verbal skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Economics

• Interest in financial markets/investing

Salary and Benefits:

• Annual base salary range of $120,000-$135,000, depending on experience.

• Annual bonus available

• This is a remote position.
