Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Finance department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to support the team’s initiatives.

The primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to supporting the strategic investment governance process, as well as other projects/initiatives of a strategic nature. This role will partner with Enterprise Strategy and other stakeholders to evolve the strategic investment governance process, evaluate strategic projects, and support other department initiatives related to strategic investment decision-making.

Reporting to the Business Lead of Strategic Investments, this role will support the department’s objective by supporting the development and administration of the governance framework for project funding decisions as Toyota transforms into a mobility company.

This position is based at our North American Headquarters in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location. Relocation assistance isn’t available for this position.

What you’ll be doing

  • Evaluate and develop recommendations for internal and external strategic investment opportunities, including venture-stage equity investments.
  • Support the development, evolution, training, and day-to-day administration of the Strategic Investment Governance Process, which covers business case development, evaluation, approval, and tracking/monitoring.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain or update process-related documents and tools, including business case templates (PowerPoint and Excel), evaluation scorecards, and reference material.
  • Support divisions and/or Finance Decision Support with business cases.
  • Support special projects and analysis as needed.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent technical degree.
  • Solid experience with evaluation/due diligence of business cases, strategic projects, and strategic investments; and/or financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience with building discounted cash flow (DCF) valuation models and scenario analysis.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Excellent analytic, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented environment.

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience with other valuation methods in addition to discounted cash flow (DCF).
  • Experience with valuation under high uncertainty or with little initial info/data.
  • Experience with sensitivity analysis.
  • Experience utilizing analytical tools to analyze and visualize large data sets (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar).
  • Experience with process development and/or optimization.
  • Advanced degree or certification (e.g., MBA, CFA, CPA).
  • User experience with SAP and/or BPC.
  • Automotive industry experience.
