Job Description Summary

The role will be responsible for supporting Cobalt’s Investment Team in a variety of capacities including deal flow management, screening of new investment opportunities, financial and business due diligence, deal execution, and post-investment portfolio management activities. The Associate will also support the team with financial analysis and preparation of presentation materials for various purposes including, investment memoranda, portfolio company valuations, and quarterly reporting for stakeholders

Job Description

  • Assist team members with all aspects of venture capital investment lifecycle, including thesis development, deal origination, detailed due diligence, financial modeling, transaction execution, and post-investment portfolio company monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate and support due diligence processes for new investment opportunities
  • Report on portfolio company activity including quarterly business updates and financial performance metrics, as well as engagement and partnership with Cobalt’s strategic partners
  • Maintain Cobalt’s CRM database (i.e., Affinity) and develop reporting and analytics detailing deal sourcing and investment pipeline activities
  • Create and maintain valuation models and investment returns performance tracking for all portfolio companies and conducting ad hoc analyses to help inform key investment and operating decisions
  • Participate in investor pitches, portfolio company update calls, limited partner meetings and other key meetings alongside Cobalt’s Principals and Managing Partner
  • Assist Cobalt’s portfolio companies and corporate partners with strategic projects, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA degree strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of professional experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, corporate development or finance roles
  • Healthcare IT and/or healthcare services industry experience preferred
  • Superior Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills; extensive experience with financial modeling, valuation analysis and development of management presentations
