Role Overview:

The Alternatives Analyst is part of a team that manage and source new investment opportunities and monitor our existing investments via meeting external managers. They also assist with the due diligence process, attend investment committees and help to execute transactions. As the candidate gains more experience, they will be able to lead the process on new idea generation and build coverage across a range of investments.

Participate in ongoing projects and thematic reviews using discretion to deliver quality output
Improve ESG/Sustainability in the investment process from end to end i.e. from new idea generation through to investment recommendations
Assist in CBAM’s Alternative asset allocation constituents and weightings
Promote Alternative investment products and services through engaging in investment debate in forums such as committees and by building relationships with stakeholders.
Creating high quality quantitative analysis, data collection and model updates for stakeholders and investment committees
Work with freedom to challenge and improve frameworks and procedures
Ensuring that key risks are understood, owned, and controlled
Ensuring regulatory compliance with all applicable laws, regulation and guidance

Skills & Qualifications:

Investment knowledge covering some areas of Alternative assets, global macro issues, asset allocation, portfolio construction and research across different markets, asset classes and security types
Demonstrates CBAM Business Principles: Client, Excellence, People & Integrity to the expected standards.
Comfortable interacting with new people and building relationships
Strong analytical skills, critical thinking and highly numerate
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both individually and as a team member
Interest in sustainable investing and Environmental, Social & Governance aspects
Excel experience and coding skills would be beneficial
CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CAA (Chartered Asset Allocator) or similar qualification
