The Team
With over $650 billion in assets under management, Fidelity Asset Management Solutions (FAMS) is a leading provider of asset allocation solutions for institutional and retail clients. The range of investment solutions includes target date funds, target allocation funds, income and real return strategies, managed volatility strategies, liquid alternative investments, and custom institutional solutions.

The Role
This position will be key member of the US Target Allocation funds team managing the Asset Manager and VIP Funds Manager suites of mutual funds, currently totaling over $45 billion in AUM. The portfolio manager will report to the FAMS Chief Investment Officer and will be a key decision-maker on strategic asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio construction and active asset allocation to ensure that we deliver exceptional performance and outcomes for our shareholders. Critical to success will be the ability to engage with FAMS asset allocation and quantitative research analysts to determine the best ideas for alpha generation and achieving appropriate long-term risk/return outcomes. As with all FAMS multi-asset funds and portfolios, the role will be in a team-based structure with co-PM assignments.

The Value You Deliver

  • Deliver timely, alpha-generating active asset allocation decisions harnessing our proprietary research insights
  • Actively employ optimization and risk models to develop portfolio construction to meet fund return/risk mandates
  • Participate in designing mandates and selecting Fidelity managers for the building-block strategies employed in multi-asset portfolios
  • Review long-term strategic asset allocation structure and identify opportunities to improve this critical driver of shareholder outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership across the full range of multi-asset efforts
  • Communicate investment ideas, themes, process and performance to internal distribution partners and external clients and constituents
  • Participate in the development of liquid alternative strategies and how to deploy them in multi-asset portfolios
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and integrity

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree and CFA preferred) along with 10+ years of investment experience
  • Strong familiarity with multi-asset investing and global asset classes
  • Hands-on portfolio decision making experience with a strong track record
  • A deep understanding of portfolio construction and risk management
  • A high level of passion for markets and investment opportunities
  • A record of growing responsibility and team leadership throughout your career
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Strong partnership and collaborative mentality to partner with other portfolio managers, quants and asset allocation research peers
  • Creative thinking and thought leadership
  • Experience in use of derivatives to assist in portfolio management allocation
  • The ability to work independently, as well in a team-oriented fashion
  • Strong ethics and integrity
