We are seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join the Portfolio Analytics team of the Equitable Investment Management Group.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and participate in the investment manager research and due diligence process. The position will be responsible for investment attribution and Board of Trustee Reporting for all types of Trust Portfolios such as Allocation Portfolios, All Asset Portfolios, Target Date Portfolios, International ETF Portfolio, Offshore Allocation Portfolios, ETF Sleeves of various Equitable Portfolios, ATM Portfolios (“Portfolios”).  Portfolios have over $110 Billion in assets.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assist with advisor screening, selection and oversight of 46 advisors that manage $110 Billion in assets for  Equitable Variable Life and Annuity products.
  • Analyze and oversee investment risk and performance for  Portfolios.
  • Assist with reporting to Independent Board of Directors of  Portfolios quarterly on performance, risk, and advisor issues.
  • Assist with reporting to Independent Board of Directors of  Portfolios regarding annual approval of management contracts for each advisor which includes performance analysis vs. Portfolio benchmarks and peers.
  • Constantly assist with designing reports to simplify complex investment subjects for use by the Independent Board of Directors.
  • Assist advisor searches and due diligence process.
  • Compile and analyze performance attribution for Portfolios.
  • Assist with oversight of investment issues regarding Portfolio transitions.
  • Assist with managing relationship with AXA Japan for the  Offshore Allocation Portfolios.
  • Ensure Portfolios are managed according to their investment guidelines.
  • Assist with asset allocation and underlying fund/ETF selection.
  • Monitor and analyze investment risk and fund performance.
  • Examine and refine the investment process, especially in response to market developments.
  • Assist with support of the Investment Specialists & Communication Group.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting such as N-Port & N-Cen.
  • Research and execute new Portfolio proposals/structures.
  • Research investment and asset allocation topics and suggest strategic and tactical methods to optimize performance.

The base salary range for this position is $81,000 – $121,000.  Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Economics, Finance, Math or related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in analysis and/or reporting
  • Established Excel skills (e.g. Macro and Excel VBA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFP, CAIA, CFA or progress in CFA program
  • Familiarity with investment management analytical applications is a plus (e.g. Bloomberg, Blackrock Aladdin, Lipper, Morningstar, Zephyr StyleAdvisor)
