Job Description

The Investment Manager contributes to the daily activities and responsibilities of the Investment Office team. The Investment Manager is part of a mission driven capital Allocator within the Children’s Investment Office.

The Investment Manager participates in the development and implementation of investment strategies and contributes to investment selection and recommendations. This position monitors and measures specified investment managers across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Investment team members in managing the portfolio with responsibilities around manager allocation across asset classes.
  • Manage multiple individual research projects across asset classes while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Source, participate and conduct external manager and reference meetings and calls.
  • Use various quantitative techniques to analyze current and prospective investments versus peers and in relation to existing portfolio.
  • Actively contribute well informed insight in external manager and internal investment team meetings.
  • Assist Investment Directors in the creation of investment memos, including the creation of charts and graphs to illustrate analysis.
  • Provide analytical support to the Chief Investment Officer and Investment Directors.
  • Continue to develop high-quality external industry relationships.
  • Author investment manager research meeting notes, reports, and presentations for Investment Team, as well as standard analytical and presentation templates for use in all asset classes.
  • Some domestic and international travel is required (<10%).

Experience Required

  • Five to seven years of experience working in investment management, banking, or investment consulting is required. Experience working with endowments, foundations, or a family office is preferred.
  • Progress towards Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, or Financial Risk Manager viewed favorably.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, accounting, business, economics, computer science, social sciences, or related field is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Observable interest in investing and capital markets.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various investment asset classes preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines.
  • Demonstrated self-starter who can multi-task and work autonomously and as a part of a high performing team.
  • Capable of building relationships with internal and external professionals while representing Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
  • Commitment to high business and professional standards, ethics, and integrity.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering error free work.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Caissa, and Burgiss are a plus.
  • Passionate about global investing and willingness to learn.
  • Humility and curiosity and an understanding of how these qualities are connected to success in this role.
