Job Details


Manages a variety of investment operations across all asset classes. Monitors existing portfolio and market trends, evaluates investment and fund manager performance, and researches potential investment opportunities. Summarizes and synthesizes information for a variety of stakeholders and assists in making recommendations to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO).

• Monitors existing portfolios and investment managers through research, meetings, conference calls, and manager letters. Synthesizes information and makes recommendations to the CIO.

• Analyzes investment performance, risk metrics, and correlations of the endowment portfolio, asset category portfolios, and individual managers relative to benchmarks, peers, and absolute return targets. Researches return drivers and analyzes links between qualitative and quantitative data.

• Monitors global capital markets and general economic conditions in order to provide informed opinions regarding future trends and other factors that may impact the investment portfolio.

• Maintains market value database and records capital calls and distributions associated with alternative investments.

• Attends industry conferences and networks with the external investment community to expand knowledge regarding emerging investment opportunities and top-performing investment managers and strategies.

• Collaborates in developing fact-based recommendations related to long-term strategic asset allocations as well as short-term tactical decisions.

• Assists in planning and executing new investments, transitions, and rebalancing including updating investment planning tools, overseeing legal process, and overseeing investment execution.

• Prepares reports for the management group, Investment Committee, Foundation Board, and others as needed.

*Position allows for telecommuting/work from home (up to 5 days per week depending upon business need and leader approval). Our office is located in Iowa City, IA.*

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar field required.




Bachelors or better in Accounting, Finance, or Business or related field.
