Our client is a prestigious and well-known foundation located in NYC. The investment team manages over $9 billion AUM which is invested across a broadly diversified range of asset classes. Some asset classes include public and private equity funds, hedge funds, real asset funds, and fixed income funds. Details below.

Opportunity:

The Investment Analyst will be part of a lean investment team and will report directly to a Portfolio Manager. This individual will primarily work with alternatives asset classes such as hedge funds and private equity funds.

Start Date: Immediate

Location: NYC

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate fund managers in the foundation’s portfolio
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of prospective fund managers
  • Automate data analysis and workflow
  • Review manager reports and letters
  • Participate in meetings with investment managers and assist with monthly and quarterly performance reporting and reconciliation
  • Track and coordinate reports, financial statements, correspondence, and legal documents
  • Research, prepare, and write investment documents to analyze the portfolio and outline market trends
  • Formulate a view on risks and opportunities related to particular investments

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience with preferred knowledge of manager due diligence (Endowment, Foundation, Pension, Fund of Fund, Family Office, or Investment Advisory would be ideal)
  • Top school a plus
  • Strong academic performance
  • Passion for investing, self-starter, ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and collaborate with a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to the foundation’s missions
  • Strong financial modeling skills, general knowledge of portfolio theory, capital markets, and/or private equity
