Susquehanna Financial Group, LLLP (SFG) delivers grass roots independent research coverage on a universe of roughly 250 stocks across five different industry verticals. We combine that with an understanding of the listed options and ETF markets to provide a more comprehensive view of the markets. We service the US institutional account base comprised of hedge funds, mutual funds and pension/endowment funds, by impacting their investment process and helping enhance their funds’ performance in the marketplace. Our Equity Research Sales team markets and distributes SIG’s fundamental research product, providing our institutional clients with differentiated analysis and market intelligence.  The Research Sales team is also responsible for the development and management of the relationship within SFG’s institutional client base.

At SIG, we place a high value on education and development, especially for our less experienced hires. During the first year of your onboarding process into Sales, you will learn financial modeling, options theory and the decision-making strategies that our traders employ. You will gain exposure to financial analysis and derivatives strategy that will allow you to effectively communicate SIG’s product to our institutional clients.  Research Sales Associates will also earn the Series 7 and 63 licenses and be encouraged to begin the CFA program.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in marketing SIG’s differentiated, fundamental equity research product from a generalist sales perspective through daily morning sales calls, conference calls hosting corporate management teams and industry experts, internal analyst meetings and event marketing.
  • Work with various internal groups, such as Research Analysts, Sales-Trading, Trading, Derivatives, Special Situations and Corporate Access to facilitate client requests.
  • Assist in the development of SIG’s business prospects from current customers, referrals and networking.
  • Interact with company management and institutional investors and liaise with Senior Salespeople, Traders, Corporate Access and Research Analysts to help support the desk on regular ongoing client coverage.
  • Spearhead various projects with an aim of improving efficiencies and growing our national equities and derivatives business.
  • Exposure to some of the US’s most successful asset managers through the teams calls, dinners and events.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in area such as Finance, Economics, Engineering or Mathematics preferred, but not required.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience, 1-3 years within Finance or Sales preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of our organization and our clients’ firms.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent research, writing and organizational skills with a keen focus on attention to detail.
  • Resourceful, independent thinker and self-starter who is motivated to excel in an evolving industry. Consistently displays energy, drive and the desire to excel.
  • Interest in financial markets and equities, specifically within equity research and equity sales.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment (the team sits on our NYC Trading Floor) multi-tasking fluidly amongst their various responsibilities.
  • Open to a demanding schedule given the group’s fluid project and event roster.
  • Will not require sponsorship now or in the future.

The annual base pay range for this role is $100,000 – $115,000 + discretionary bonus + benefits. SIG considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education/training, key skills, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
