The Foundation is looking for a director of Investment Operations and Risk Management to lead investment operations, reporting and risk management and work closely as a thought partner to the CIO on portfolio-level issues, including asset allocation, portfolio analytics and rebalancing. As a senior member of the Investments team, the director will also collaborate broadly with team members to manage the diversified endowment portfolio and work to constantly improve team processes. As the director, you will:

  • manage day-to-day operational activities;
  • lead analysis and evaluation of investment risk across a wide range of asset classes and exposures;
  • collaborate closely with the CIO on matters of portfolio construction and asset allocation;
  • lead operational due diligence and contribute broadly to the evaluation of prospective and current investments;
  • help improve the team’s investment processes and tools;
  • be a part of a small team that encourages intellectual rigor, independent thinking, open dialogue and continuous improvement, learning and professional development;
  • prepare and present risk management reviews and recommendations to the Investments team and the Board of Trustees Finance Committee; and
  • participate in monitoring and managing a diversified portfolio of world class private capital managers.

Qualified candidates will have the following: 

  • a minimum of 7 years of experience managing investment operations and leading risk management activities for an endowment, foundation or similar institutional investment organization;
  • experience developing quantitative analyses to assess investment risks and to inform investment and portfolio management decisions;
  • experience selecting, implementing and managing investment management systems and processes;
  • experience conducting operational due diligence of investment managers;
  • strong analytical, communication and organizational skills;
  • motivated by the mission and purpose of the Casey Foundation; and
  • proven ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team, collaborate and build constructive and effective relationships.
