Chief Investment Officer

Position Summary:
Reporting into Kaspick’s President, the Chief Investment Officer leads the department responsible for overseeing all investment related activities for individual and institutional clients at TIAA Kaspick. The CIO leads a team of investment professionals, focused on implementing investment strategies that have mid to long term impact on business results and in line with clients’ investment guidelines. The CIO will set the team’s strategic direction, including the organizational design, policies, processes and will chair the Investment Committee. This job is responsible for managing relationships with key clients and providing investment guidance and advice and is seen as a subject matter expert on planned giving and endowment investment management. The CIO works closely with the Senior Leadership team and provides expert counsel on strategic initiatives focused on growing and strengthening the organization’s investment services and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides oversight and leads the management of all investment-related activities for institutional clients, including, investment policies, investment strategy, asset allocation, manage research and selection, portfolio construction, and tax efficient strategies. Leads the investment research process that determines the make-up of portfolios.
  • Serves as the face of the organization’s investment capabilities to employees, clients and the industry. Actively participates in key client meetings, client events, industry forums and prospecting meetings.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to clients and their investment committees on performance and strategy.
  • Helps set the firm’s direction as a member of the firm’s senior leadership team.
  • Manages team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and team development.
  • Chairs the Investment Committee.
  • Manages all aspects of the investment team.

Educational Requirements

  • University degree preferred.

Work Experience

  • 8+ years managing planned gift investments and endowments for non-profits required; 10+ years preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of donor/institution relationship and structure to serve our clients and strengthen their planned giving programs.

Base Pay Range: $294,200/yr. – $363,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
