      • Role Summary 

        The Alternatives Solutions Group (ASG) aims to accelerate the growth of our hedge fund solutions and cross-alternative initiatives, and promote our broad Alternatives capabilities through thought leadership and providing a strategic portfolio construction framework. Teams within ASG include Hedge Fund & Alternative Credit Solutions, Alternatives Investment Strategy & Solutions and our Cross-Alternatives Investment Specialists.We are seeking a “hands on” associate to complement our existing Operational Due Diligence team focused on hedge fund and private credit investments for the Alternatives Solutions Group. Your primary focus will be conducting initial and ongoing manager due diligence but we also expect contributions to the strengthening of our Operational Due Diligence process, skills and knowledge. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the investment and risk management teams at JPMAAM, while at the same time developing independent views on new/existing managers regarding business and operational risks, as well as sustainability and diversity practices. You will also lead and/or participate in strategic projects and initiatives aimed at ensuring our Operational Due Diligence practices and expertise remain cutting edge and are communicated to our clients as such.

        Job Responsibilities


        • Coordinating, preparing for and conducting operational due diligence reviews on hedge fund and private credit managers. This includes evaluation of business and operational risks such as organizational structure and staffing, third-party service providers and administrators, financial operations, policies and procedures, valuation and NAV production, cash management, legal & compliance, financing/counterparty arrangements and information technology/cyber-security.
        • Helping drive the Company’s perspective on hedge fund operational risk issues and the effect of these on the underlying managers and portfolios.
        • Working closely with the Investment/Research, Marketing, Risk and other internal JPMAAM teams.
        • Representing the Company through presentations to existing or prospective clients as well as at industry events.
        • Preparing written analysis/research for internal use.
        • Presenting such research at internal Investment Committee meetings and educational sessions.

        Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills


        • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
        • At least 2 years of relevant experience in an Operational Due Diligence or similar role at a hedge fund investment or advisory organization. Related experience outside of hedge funds may also be considered.
        • Prior experience in hedge fund operations, administration, accounting, bank hedge fund credit, or audit is desired.
        • Ability to apply knowledge/experience to a wide variety of alternative investment managers and operating environments to assess operational risks and relevant ESG factors and to identify potential concerns.
        • Strong business acumen; knowledge of the global capital markets and factors driving those markets.
        • Demonstrated aptitude for and experience in external client relations, including communicating with sophisticated investors both one-on-one and in large group settings
        • A thought leader and a “partner” at heart, possess a natural focus on adding value and not “checking boxes” and strong analytical and inter-personal skills; confidence and poise to interview hedge fund managers (typically senior level non-investment staff – COO, CFO, Head of Ops, CCO)

        • MBA, CPA, JD and/or CFA a plus
